چکیده
Simulation has always been an indispensable tool in the design and analysis of telecommuni cation networks Due to performance limitations of the majority of simulators usually network simulations have been done for rather small network models and for short time scales In con trast many di cult design problems facing today s network engineers concern the behavior of very large hierarchical multi hop networks carrying millions of multiprotocol ows over long time scales Examples include scalability and stability of routing protocols packet losses in core routers or long lasting transient behaviors due to observed self similarity of tra c patterns Simulation of such systems would greatly bene t from application of parallel computing tech nologies especially now that multiprocessor workstations and servers have become commonly available However parallel simulation has not yet been widely embraced by telecommuni cations community due to a number of di culties Based on our accumulated experiences in parallel network simulation projects we believe that parallel simulation technology has matured to the point that it is ready to be used in industrial practice of network simulation This article highlights recent work in parallel simulations of networks and its promises

LPKP: location-based probabilistic key pre-distribution scheme for large-scale wireless sensor networks using graph coloring
Communication security of wireless sensor networks is achieved using cryptographic keys assigned to the nodes. Due to resource constraints in such networks, random key pre-distribution schemes are of high interest. Although in most of these schemes no location information is considered, there are scenarios that location information can be obtained by nodes after their deployment. In this paper,...
متن کاملMixed Large-Eddy Simulation Model for Turbulent Flows across Tube Bundles Using Parallel Coupled Multiblock NS Solver
In this study, turbulent flow around a tube bundle in non-orthogonal grid is simulated using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) technique and parallelization of fully coupled Navier – Stokes (NS) equations. To model the small eddies, the Smagorinsky and a mixed model was used. This model represents the effect of dissipation and the grid-scale and subgrid-scale interactions. The fully coupled NS eq...

متن کاملDecentralized Adaptive Control of Large-Scale Non-affine Nonlinear Time-Delay Systems Using Neural Networks
In this paper, a decentralized adaptive neural controller is proposed for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems with unknown nonlinear, non-affine subsystems and unknown nonlinear time-delay interconnections. The stability of the closed loop system is guaranteed through Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability analysis. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approache...
متن کاملLarge Lithium Polymer Battery Modeling for the Simulation of Hybrid Electric Vehicles Using the Equivalent Circuit Method
In the present study, a model of a large Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) battery for use in the simulation of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) is developed. To attain this goal, an Equivalent Circuit (EC) consisting of a series resistor and two RC parallel networks is considered. The accuracy and the response time of the model for use in an HEV simulator are studied. The battery parameters identifica...
متن کاملOn Network Model Division Method Based on Link-to-Link Traffic Intensity for Accelarating Parallel Distributed Simulation
In recent years, requirements for performance evaluation techniques of a large-scale network have been increasing. However, the conventional network performance evaluation techniques, such as mathematical modeling and simulation, are suitable for comparatively small-scale networks. Research on parallel simulation has been actively done in recent years, which might be a possible solution for sim...
